Big Bud is a famous, cup-winning Cannabis strain that was bred using Afghani and Skunk genetics, it is renowned for its amazing yields and vigour. Sensi Seeds have been working hard to bring to the market an auto-flowering version of this wonderful strain. It is a high producer and very venerable within the Cannabis industry. While this has been bred for an auto-flowering strain, they have managed to retain all the flavours, potency and density of the parent. The automatic variety has more of a squat, compact build than her predecessor as well as quicker flowering time. Auto Big Bud will begin to auto flower around the time the 7th to 9th pair of true leaves shows, that is usually around 6 to 8 weeks in from germination, this knowledge should be able to help you plant these seeds so the flowering will coincide with the warmest brightest months in your region. This automatic strain will be able to flower within the long summer days while the photoperiod strains cannot. Auto Big Bid packs most of its weight on around the main stem and upper branches. These plants, due to their auto-flowering traits, shouldn't be topped as the growth phase can't be extended for regenerative growth. If you do need to control the height then you should prune them late during the growth stage. After 7 to 9 weeks in flower, the plants will typically be around 90cm to 130cm and will be weighed down with compact, mature, resin packed Indica flowers, these will be weighty so it may be a good idea to get some support for the plants such as string or stakes. A good trait of this strain is that it exhibits minimum shrinkage during the drying and curing stage so they retain most of their original size and weight. The Calyxes of Big Bud will swell to a remarkable size, crammed together where they fight for space, resulting in some crazy dense buds. These buds will give off a lovely Afghan aroma which is a mix of sweet, musky pungent and fruity with an undertone of old school hash. The effects of this strain are sedative but there is an element of a cerebral high from the Sativa genetics in the Skunk #1 parent. There is a good balance of CBD and THC within this strain, making it a good choice for a wide array of medicinal applications, not forgetting the recreational potential.
